What We Are Looking For...

The Realise Live scheme supports the composition, production and performance of a new piece of music to be performed in spring 2007 at South Hill Park , the Oxford Contemporary Music venues and Turner Sims Concert Hall.

For a project to be considered, the producers are looking for:

  • an innovative new piece of music in jazz, folk, electronica or other new music genre.
  • a work which has the potential to capture the imagination of our audiences, whether through a theme, an international dimension, a new collaboration, an innovative presentation or cross-art form elements.
  • a project capable of being toured to three different venues of varying scale and technical requirements. Please refer to each organisation's website to get an idea of the current programmes before applying.
  • an idea which shows a creative and imaginative approach to all aspects of presentation and composition.
  • an artist or composer prepared to work closely with the Producers in helping to realise their project .

Eligibility...

Who can apply and what can you apply for?

  • artists who have a track record of producing high quality, innovative work and also new and emerging artists.
  • any composer or performer, regardless of whether the artist/ensemble is funded by ACE.
  • performers and composers based in the UK or overseas.
  • collectives, individual artists, agents and managers .

What kind of project is not eligible for funding?

  • A project that has already been performed.

And what we will not fund

  • We will not fund projects with budgets that are unrealistic or do not reflect the real cost of the project.
  • a repeat or extension of an existing project an artist will not be considered as a new idea and will be rejected.

Points to note

  • The quality of your idea is the key to success with RealiSE Live not your profile.
  • The funds available for an artist/ensemble in producing their project is dependent entirely on the demands of the proposal. Each idea will have different composition, production, artist requirements and performance times. The overall grant for one year awarded to Realise Live was just under £30,000 but that is no guide how much your idea will cost to actually produce.
  • Grants will be made to single applicants, but we will happily consider funding partnership applications from two or more linked applicants.
